Camelback Country Club Estates Landscape and Architecture Control Committee
The
CC&Rs of this Association established the Landscape and
Architectural Control Committee (hereafter referred to as Committee) to
oversee the architectural and landscape requirements as provided in the
CC&Rs and ensure their fair and efficient application across the
community. The general purpose of the Committee is to ensure that a
high standard of design and quality of materials is maintained
throughout the subdivision for the mutual benefit of all the property
owners and to take such action, in its absolute discretion and
consistent with the purposes of the CC&Rs, as it may determine to
be reasonably appropriate to enforce them.
Roles and Responsibilities
In short, all new structures or alterations to existing property
must be reviewed in advance by the Committee in an attempt to maintain
continuity for our neighborhood. No demolition, improvements,
alterations, excavations, grading, major landscaping, or other work
which alters the exterior appearance of any residence or lot shall be
done without the prior written approval of the Committee. Philosophy and Direction
The Committee (made up of volunteers from the neighborhood) is
charged with interpreting and overseeing architectural and landscape
requirements outlined by the Association CC&Rs and ensuring their
fair and efficient application across the community. This can be a
quite challenging and at the same time a very rewarding effort. Your
compliance with the Association CC&Rs and recognition of the
Committee’s efforts is greatly appreciated.
In November 2005 the Committee published its Architectural and Landscape Project Review Guidelines.
These Guidelines are intended to streamline and standardize the project
review process and encourage excellence in design. All residents going
through the design process should give a copy of these guidelines to
their architect or contractor. Architects and designers should not use
these Guidelines as constraints to creativity, but rather as parameters
within which the Camelback Country Club Estates area as a whole is
characterized and protected.
The long-term goal is to preserve and build upon the unique
sense of place that our community has here in Paradise Valley. This can
be achieved by differentiating our neighborhood from its surrounding
environment not just through signage but more effectively through some
measure of continuity in architecture and landscape design.

Feel free to contact current Committee Chairman Michael Collins
by email or at (480) 998-0692 or any Committee member for more
information regarding the Landscape and Architectural Control Committee
or with questions or concerns about neighborhood architectural and
landscape issues. You will find their telephone numbers listed in the
Association Handbook, often referred to as "the Red Book" that each
homeowner has been provided. Plan Approval Process
Volunteers of the Committee process requests for project review,
maintain project records, and serve as general record of communications
and transactions between the homeowner or their representative and the
Committee. All projects require Committee approval prior to the
alteration (including demolition) of existing conditions. The
application for plan review and approval by the Committee must be
complete BEFORE any demolition, improvements, disturbances or
alterations are made to your property. Approved Demolition or Building
Permits from the Town of Paradise Valley do not substitute Committee
review or approval or a proposed project. Submittal requirements vary
depending on project type as discussed in the Guidelines. You can
download the Guidelines here.
